Lizzo @ Block Party
This screen printed poster was created for Lizzo’s appearance at the 2019 Capitol Hill Block Party music festival in Seattle. Every year, the festival puts together a poster show to celebrate the musical talent and showcase work from local designers and artists.
The design of this piece draws from Lizzo’s personality and the various themes found in her discography. Bold, funky beats inspired custom hand-drawn letters that feel playful, energetic and just a bit retro. Graphic floral illustrations and a mix of textures highlight themes of growth, self-love and vulnerability in her music. Neon inks were utilized to take advantage of the intense color that can be achieved using the screen printing process.
